  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon (heaping) finely grated, peeled fresh gingerroot


  1. Remove ice cream from the freezer about 15 minutes before serving to allow it to soften. Put softened ice cream in a large bowl. Dollop fresh grated ginger over the mound. With a large spoon, press and fold ginger throughout ice cream. Serve immediately.
